Boomers and Social Media is a report from eMarketer.com that looks at findings from May, 2009. That data found that 47% of all baby boomers who use the Internet keep up a profile on at least one social networking online site. That's an increase of 15% from 2008. I have passionately advocated seniors on computers and the World Wide Web as a great way of maintaining a great quality of life for my aging peers, especially in the field of memory improvement. I, myself, use a Facebook account and a couple of other social media accounts, as well. I monitor my Facebook page practically every day because it helps me keep up with individuals I know all over the earth. Actually, I have never met some of them face-to-face, and others I have not seen for fifty years or more!
On Facebook you will discover many activities for senior citizens, as well as special groups about everything you can imagine. Marketplace, which lets users post free classified ads.

If you want to try it out without committing, use your web browser to go to the Facebook internet page, Facebook.com. Once you have arrived at that page, click on the "Find Friends" link at the bottom of the page.
